Favourite Spring Lip Colours

Spring is upon us, and with the change of the seasons comes one of my favourite things: bright, bold lip colours. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good dark lip as much as the next girl, but there’s something about a bright lip colour that just brings me so much joy. In the spring and summer, when I’m feeling a little more adventurous, I tend to gravitate towards more bright, bolder shades (namely more pinks and reds) to compliment the season. So, today, to celebrate the coming of spring, I wanted to share some of my favourites!

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour in “Heartbeat” – £5.99 available at Boots and Superdrug

This liquid lipstick is a fun, bright, purple-pink which is perfect with cooler eye looks. It’s bold, yet wearable and is one of my go-to spring/summer shades. These liquid lips dry down completely matte and are pretty much budge proof. You may need to touch up a little on the inside of your lips after eating, but of you’re looking for a low maintenance bold pink, this is perfect for you!

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour in “Firestarter” – £5.99 available at Boots and Superdrug

Another favourite from this line of Rimmel liquid lips. “Firestarter” is a beautifully bright orange based red. This shade is perfect for spring and summer, and works well with a warm toned eye look. Plus, like the previous shade, it’s almost indestructable!

Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick in “Posie K” – £11.95 ($17) available at Kylie Cosmetics

“Posie K” is distinctly more neutral, but still has a slightly more bold look about it. It’s a beautiful deeper mauve shade, which looks beautiful with a light eye look. I love this shade when I want something more wearable, but not so nude. It dries down matte and lasts all day, and the name “Posie K” definitely makes me think of pretty spring flowers.

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in “Pink Punch” – £3.50 available at Boots

This beautifully bright pink is easy to apply and super glossy. This teeny tiny, clutch bag sized lipstick is incredibly pigmented, easy to apply and so affordable that you can buy the whole collection! The only real downside is that this definitely requires some reapplication throughout the day, as it is more glossy and easily wears away.

Essence Matt Matt Matt Lipstick in “04” – Unable to find online, but I bought it from Wilko

By now, you can probably guess what my go-to shades are. But this lipstick from Essence (that I’m not sure why I can’t find online, but I only purchased last year) is a stunning bold shade of fuschia. It’s easy to apply, easy to wear and is definitely a statement shade. Again, its something that will require some reapplication, but the colour is beautiful.

Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in “London Fog” – £4.57 ($6.50) available from Colourpop

This is a gorgeous pillar box red, which is perfect for spring and summer. It’s bright, bold and beautiful. The Ultra Satin Lip formula from Colourpop is one of my favourites, as it’s long-wearing but not drying on the lips. As its not as drying, the colour doesn’t completely dry down, and doesn’t last as long as matte formulas, but it still lasts a good amount of time.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour in “Obsession” – £8.99 available at Boots and Superdrug

Yet another bright pink, but this time in the form of a liquid lip from Revlon. This claims to be matte, but definitely has more of a satin/glossy finish. It doesn’t dry down either, so it will require a little bit of touching up throughout the day, but its still a beautiful colour!

I’m so excited that it’s finally spring so I can break out some of these shades!
