A couple of nights ago, I found myself browsing the Beauty Bay website, as I often do. The next thing I knew, I had a cart full of new goodies and was hitting “checkout”. To be fair, there were a couple of things I needed to restock, but the majority of my order was just stuff I wanted to try out.
I’ve been in the market for a new mascara for a while (all of mine are way older than they should be) and I was just going to repurchase my trusty Too Faced Damn Girl, but I decided to try out something new instead. I’d seen the Anastasia Lash Brag mascara on Instagram a while ago, but had completely forgotten about it until I saw it on the Beauty Bay website. I decided to take the plunge and purchase the mini size, just to try it out.
When it comes to mascara, I generally look for something that’s going to give a lot of volume, rather than length, just because I feel like my lashes are already fairly long. This has a similar shaped brush to the Too Faced mascara, and gets amazing reviews online, so I’m excited to try it out for myself.
I also needed a new liquid eyeliner and decided to go for the Stila Stay All Day liquid eyeliner in ‘Intense Black’. This was my absolute favourite liquid eyeliner for years, and I have no idea why I stopped buying it. It has a very fine tip, which lets you get super sharp, precise lines. It’s also incredibly pigmented and surprisingly easy to use! I can’t wait to be able to use this again.
This is my third bottle of the Jeffree Star Magic Concealer, it’s one of my all time favourites. It gives great coverage, but doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. Plus, the packaging is gorgeous. I would highly recommend it to anyone who’s in the market for a new concealer. I just wished I’d also picked up a new tub of the Magic Star Setting Powder too.
I’ve had this Revolution blush in ‘Lovestruck’ in my wishlist for a while now. Online, it looks like a super pretty peachy pink, but in real life, it’s much more of an intense hot pink (my photos do not do it justice). If I’m completely honest, I’m a little intimidated by it, but it might be a fun Summer shade if you apply it with a light hand.
This is one of the things that I didn’t necessarily need, but I just thought I’d try it out. My brow hairs are naturally quite dark, so I usually opt for dark brown shades in brow products. However, now that I’ve opened this Revolution Duo Brow Definer in ‘Dark Brown’, I think it might be a little too dark. I’ll have to give it a go and see what happens. Good news is that it wasn’t very expensive if it turns out to be the wrong shade.
The last couple of bits that I bought were from Revolution Skincare. I have very dry skin, so I have to choose skincare products that advertise themselves as being more hydrating. I love anything with hyaluronic acid, as it helps the skin to hold in moisture, so when I saw this Overnight Hydrating Mask, I was immediately clicking “add to cart”. This overnight mask gets amazing reviews and I can’t wait to try it out tonight and see if it works for my skin!
I also love skin mists – no idea if they actually do anything for my skin, but I bloody love them. They’re just so much fun to apply. I decided to give the Revolution Skincare Hyaluronic Essence spray a go to see if it would make any difference to my skin. If not, it can just be added to the growing collection of skin mists and setting sprays on my dressing table.
Have you bought any new beauty bits recently? Anything I need to try out? Let me know in the comments!
